St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department Achieves ISO Class 4 Public Protection Classification
The St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that it has received the ISO (Insurance Services Office) Class 4 Public Protection Classification, effective March 1st, 2020. This achievement underscores our dedication to providing top-tier fire protection and emergency services to our community.
ISO is a third-party independent agency that evaluates fire departments, water supply systems, and communications infrastructure. These evaluations are conducted on a national scale, with ratings ranging from 1 to 10—where 1 represents the highest level of protection and 10 indicates the need for significant improvements.
The Public Protection Classification (PPC) Program by ISO plays a vital role in the insurance industry. Most U.S. insurers utilize PPC information during their underwriting processes to decide which properties to insure, the types of coverage to offer, and the pricing for both personal and commercial property insurance.
Our Class 4 rating reflects our commitment to enhancing fire suppression capabilities, maintaining robust water supply systems, and ensuring effective communication during emergencies. This classification not only highlights our dedication to protecting lives and property but also has the potential to result in lower insurance premiums for our residents and businesses.
We extend our gratitude to our community, volunteers, and partners for their unwavering support as we continue to strive for excellence in service and safety.
