On January 28th, 2016 at approximately 0826 hours, units from St. Leonard VFD were alerted to the auto accident in the area of 3000 St. Leonard Road, Squad 7 (L. Culbert), Ambulance 78 (S. Nero), Chief 7, Rescue Captain 7, and Safety Officer 7 immediately responded on the call. Rescue Captain 7 arrived on the scene to first to find a two vehicle, rear-end collision with one trapped. Moments Later Chief 7 arrived on the scene and established the "St. Leonard Road" command. Personnel from Squad 7 then arrived and immediately went to work utilizing multiple Hurst tools to free the trapped patient. EMS providers on the scene then determined aviation was needed to transport the trapped patient to an appropriate trauma center. Within ten minutes the trapped occupant was extricated and transported to the landing site north of the accident scene on St. Leonard Road. The other occupant involved was transported to CMH with minor injuries. Moments later Trooper 7 arrived and transported the victim to a local trauma center.
